Personal counseling with Carmen Young MFN, RD* includes a full assessment, education, handouts and meal plans. Follow-ups include review of food journals, further education and reassessment.

Grocery store tours are designed to show you the easiest way to efficiently navigate your way through the aisles and make the best choices for your personal needs. Some areas covered are whole food choices, organic foods, label reading and gluten free/diary free options. You will leave this experience feeling capable and confident that your next shopping trip will be a breeze!

*Carmen Young MFN, RD is a former 4-year Division I student athlete who found her passion for nutrition through swimming. Carmen earned her Bachelors in Dietetics and Masters in Food and Nutrition at Bowling Green State University, where she also completed her Dietetic Internship working in a variety of nutrition settings such as clinical care, long term care facilities, food service management, community centers and athletics. Shortly after, Carmen earned her Registered Dietitian credentials and began working with a variety of student athletes at Rutgers University to help fuel their performance.
Currently, Carmen works as an Assistant Professor of Practice in the Nutritional Sciences Department at the University of Arizona, teaching undergraduate sports nutrition-related courses.
Her nutrition philosophy? “I like to take a personalized approach to nutrition, there is no “one-size-fits-all”; I like to meet my clients where they are at in their current lives. Whether the goal is to enhance sports performance, navigate day to day food choices, or to simply lead the healthiest and most fulfilling lifestyle that you can…I am here to guide you in the right direction!”

When Pilates aficionados get truly serious, the next step is to move beyond the ‘classroom’ format and enjoy the true ‘studio’ nature of the regimen more privately. It is then they may engage a dedicated instructor or coach to help them make the very most of this holistic exercise experience.
On every level – the concept of ‘studio’ becomes a studio….“a room where an artist works.”
Private, duet, trio and quartet sessions are available at Sierra Fitness and enable clients and instructors to work together in a very dedicated and focused way to identify and work toward achieving clients’ individual needs and personal goals.
